Beasto on Beasto that's how I like it.
Beasto has been quelled. No longer does she roam the flat asking after "Chompee" (Chumley), insist on seeing Sam or asking us where the disco is. Nope. She lies in her cot dreaming of horses, her latest obsession, and thinking of which devilishly inappropriate hour she should wake. Thankfully, the damage of her 0545 wake up this morning was dampened by the presence of Cool Runnin' on iplayer, which, for those sheltered souls who've not seen it, comes highly recommended. Nancy certainly enjoyed the slightly stereotyped Disneyfied Jamaicans and their silly patois. It's like a long advert for Malibu but with John Candy in.
Anyway back to our Beasto. She can now say "Cuddle", which is normally her cue to go 'twixt her parents manically bestowing cuddles until she is distracted by a lump of cheese or some other morsel of edible goodness. Suffice it to say it is all rather lovely - enough to spread much joy around our little corner of N4. Her hair is ever thicker with each passing day, although she has a mullet of Germanic proportion which is at once both delightful but also slightly ridiculous. But given it has taken her two years to get this much hair, no barber will be sent for.
She can also run into things at high speed and say "bonk" on impact. Which I taught her. It's rather more enchanting than it sounds.
There has been a lack of video recently so here is something from the archives of Chiswick (to whom we say Thank You), celebrating Nancy's firsts steps, which were taken all the way back last November. Which seems patently outrageous. As you might have guessed, the high production values and lack of slightly obtuse nonsense that normally characterizes the output of this site indicates the presence of content not of my hand. So to give it a more authentic feel, I would recommend opening this link first, in order to provide a more fitting soundtrack. Which ever version you go for, I'm sure you'll be very happy.
Altogether now:
Metal on metal
Heads start to bang
Denim and leathers
Chains that clang
Keep on rockin
Keep on rockin
To this metal tonight
Keep on pounding
Keep on pounding
Join the heavy metal fight
Metal on metal
Gets you so high
Excitement and action
Won't pass you by
And if you thought that this good, I can recommend you watch this film. It's brilliant. And touching. Anyway. Enjoy Beasto.
