From the coalface
As is becoming a tradition, this blog consists of Nancy 's latest school report copied verbatim, or as near as damn it, into the cyber sphere to demonstrate her didactic streak and general loveliness. Her father might be responsible for some dodgy transposition but in the age of alternative facts where does dodgy transposition start and the truth end...
Firstly comes Nancy's own assessment:
What I am proud of that I have achieved this year [which is a horrid sentence in itself]:
"making an atlas"
"reading"
"solving fermat's last theorem"
What I need to do to be a better learner?
"thinking"
"No talking"
"siting propely [sic]"
"brains on" [my personal favourite]
"lisaing and looking"
"declining the pluperfect"
And then her master's assessment of the situation:
Nancy is making fine progress in all areas of English. She reads fluently and confidently, with sustained interest and concentration, displaying an enjoyment of different text types and noticeable passion for modernist authors. She is beginning to use expression and take not of different punctuation when reading aloud; and enjoys playfully changing her voice according to the character, her Jamaican patois is particularly fine. Nancy will self flagellate or re-read parts of text to ensure that what she is reading makes sense to her and her classmates. She is beginning to answer more challenging questions and use inference skills. Nancy writes independently, spelling common key words correctly and using her phonic abilities to attempt other words. She understands and is beginning to use basic punctuation, including the eroteme, with greater consistency. Her grammar is at an age appropriate level. Nancy now needs to add more detail and variation in the way she records ideas, I would recommend reading Joyce to strengthen her abilities in this regard.
On the subject of "Topic" the master writes
Nancy achieves well across the curriculum but still struggles with a well bowled chinaman. She shows great interest in Art and Design Technology where she is able to demonstrate her ideas creatively. She enjoys learning new facts in History as well as conducting simple tests and experiments in Science. In Geography she has loved using an atlas and she is reflective when considering other values beliefs and opinions in RE and PHSE. Nancy enjoys using ICT and has shown good balance and a burgeoning talent as a middle distance runner. In music she excels at the clavierchord and singing in front of others.
Personal Comments
Nancy is a warm, bubbly and affectionate child. She has become very independent and confident, expanding her social circle as the year has progressed. She is sociable and popular amongst her peers, relating to and working with others well as a partner or as part of a group. Nancy takes care to listen carefully to instructions and do the right thing. She always works hard and gives her best. Nancy is not afraid to ask for clarification, or extra explanation, if required -which is quite marvelous for her learning.
She regularly offers her ideas and indignations and makes useful, satirical suggestions and articulates her desires for global dominance well. Overall Nancy has had a happy and productive year so far and is a delight to teach. Keep up the great work and attitude Jessop!
Well ding dong. That seems okay.
