When Bertie met Broccoli.
As you can see the blog has had something of an overhaul in the last few weeks. Mainly because I read a book on font and design and wanted to fiddle about. Apparently, most publishers no longer list the font of a new book as it is deemed unimportant - standards are slipping, people are more stupider et cetera, et cetera - but for the record this blog is now in a font called Arvo and rather dashing it is too. The "s" is particularly joyous as is the lower case "k".
The other major development is that you can now have Bertie in your inbox. Some of you don't have this page set as your homepage (for shame) and for those degenerates this new tool [ho ho ho] (I imagine this is actually "content" in our feckless nu-media world) will fill the void. All you need to do is register your email address and next time I spank any more delightful pictures of Bertie onto this blog you will receive them in your inbox nestling amongst those emails from Nigeria asking you for your pin number, those emails from your bank offering you a better life, and all the other crap that a modern inbox consists. What could be better?
But enough of my marketing flim flam; what of Bertie? Well she is weaning hard - demolishing dinner with ease and is now getting to grips with finger food. Which basically means she hits the food until it submits to her will, smears it all over her face, her high chair and then gets a negligible amount in her mouth while both her parents coo. This doesn't really do the whole process justice as her creative destructiveness is a joy to behold. Unlike most babies her age she still can not roll over which is a blessing as her capacity to imperil her own life remains limited [which parentally speaking is rather lovely] but means developmentally she is a little bit of a minor spanner. On the plus side she can sit up pretty well and is possibly the greatest baby in the western hemisphere.
I've moved on from Latin American capitals and have instead tried to teach her about the world's longest rivers but she is still resisting. Blast her.
Anyway enjoy these pictures. And check out that hat. It is the bomb. Word.
