Fire Fire Fire
Alas, after the last month when Nancy put finger to keyboard for the first time, this month's entry is by her pater who failed to entice his daughter for a second installment. He still holds out hope that is a possibility but with time marching on and a few people waiting eagerly for the next entry, here is the latest post.
Nancy remains obsessed with the Great Fire of London and noted diarist Samuel Pepys - she has written to Grandpa No-Hair on the subject, constructed an excellent diorama and likes to discuss the matter in her spare time. She even has a book on Pepys from the local library - which has the potential to make her look atypical as 5 and a half year old child. But it is all very exciting to behold. Quite what her next historical infatuation will be is anyone's guess but I'm hoping she might take to the Thirty Years War as like a good episode of Holby City it has everything you need. Plus who doesn't like a good defenestration?
Beyond, her commitment to historical intrigue Nancy continues to rather enjoy school but what she does on most days remains shrouded in mystery, with only the odd detail revealed (this evening for example the gem "I know how to deal with fights" "What do you do Nancy? "Erm, I'm not telling") which hints at rich educational life. This evening on being collected she had constructed a scene (a rather natty seascape made of blue foil) to help cheer me up - what it lack in class it made up for in youthful loveliness - so whatever is behind that shroud seems to making her happy. The lack of new headteacher seems to be causing her a little worry but she has faith in the governors to get the decision right.
Her latest endeavour though is to complete her entry in the BBC short story competition - a 500 word epic poem on the fate of three mice (one was originally going to be called Chinky, but this was advised against for fear of political incorrectness) who appear to have been stolen by a Witch who owns a dog called Dominic. The specifics of the plot are not wholly clear to me but she seems very happy with her efforts so far. If it does get entered I'll let you know so that the many thousands who read this nonsense can vote for her story and lead her to glorious victory. Or not as the case probably will be.
And while the passage of time is a favourite subject here at AOABFKAM, Nancy is currently growing her hair out. Which makes her look ridiculously old. Insert gnomic quote here.
Anyway, enjoy.
